Both, and everything between. Green Lion is a design-build firm: we handle the design, the permitting, the construction, and the finishing under one contract. You see detailed 2D plans and 3D renderings before we break ground.
What does a custom water feature cost?
We publish starting prices: koi ponds from $12,500, natural ponds from $10,500, pondless features from $9,500, and modern features from $12,500. Typical ranges run to $22,000–$30,000+ depending on scale, stone, and site. Every feature is quoted to your yard — see the waterscapes page.
Is luxury out of my budget?
Not necessarily — that’s why we publish starting prices instead of hiding them. Many of our most-loved features, like pondless streams, start under $10,000, and the design consultation costs nothing. Tell us the number you’re working with; we’ll tell you honestly what it can build.

Yes — Green Lion Landscape, Inc. holds California contractor license CSLB #1150882. You can verify it directly on the CSLB site.
Will you maintain a water feature someone else built?
Yes. Whether we installed your feature or another contractor did, our team can tune filtration, fix leaks, address algae and clarity, refresh plantings, and upgrade components — throughout the Central Valley, Bay Area, and Sacramento regions.
